Information sharing agreement with SIRA

The Independent Review Office (IRO) and State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) have an agreement called a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This agreement explains how the two organisations work together and share information.

Why this agreement exists

The MoU helps both organisations:

  • Support the workers compensation and motor crash schemes
  • meet their legal expectations to make sure these systems operate effectively to promote adherence and reliability.

How information is shared

The agreement sets out:

  • What information can be shared
  • How it is shared safely
  • How it is shared quickly, made accessible and only shared when needed

This helps ensure the right information gets to the right people at the right time.

Privacy and security

  • All information is shared in line with the relevant laws
  • Following strict privacy rules

This means personal and sensitive information is protected.
